Feeding Hope with Only A Pavement Away

At Comptoir, we believe food should bring people together and open doors. That’s why we’ve teamed up with Only A Pavement Away – a charity helping people facing homelessness, prison leavers, and veterans find new opportunities and build lasting careers in hospitality.
On World Homeless Day (10th October), thanks to your support through the Comptoir Feeding Hope Fund, we joined forces with Only A Pavement Away and Refettorio Felix in Earl’s Court to serve up 100 hot meals for vulnerable people.

Refettorio Felix is a local lifeline – opening its doors without judgement to anyone struggling with homelessness, loneliness, mental health or substance abuse. Together, we shared food, warmth, and community with those who needed it most.

Because at Comptoir, it’s never just about feeding people – it’s also about hope.

Sharing Food, Sharing Community – Comptoir at Open Iftar- 1500 Meals

Ramadan is a time for reflection, unity, and community.  We are proud to have supported the Ramadan Tent Project at their Open Iftar events, the UK’s largest community gathering during Ramadan, by donating food and time to events across London.

From iconic locations to local spaces, Open Iftar brings people of all faiths and backgrounds together to share a meal at sunset. Our team rolled up their sleeves, serving and sharing food with thousands of guests – creating moments of connection, conversation, and belonging.

At Comptoir, we believe Middle Eastern food is about more than flavour – it’s about generosity, hospitality, and bringing people together. Supporting Open Iftar is our way of honouring that tradition and helping to make Ramadan a celebration for all.

Come Together For A Taste Of Lebanon

Comptoir Libanais was delighted to support Douk, an exciting fundraising indoor food market at our restaurant in Gloucester Road, on Sunday, 2nd February 2025.

Guests enjoyed an incredible line-up of Lebanese chefs, stunning artisan products, and beautiful Lebanese-inspired art, and had the chance to meet the Douk team and the charity’s trustees.

All proceeds raised went to Bedayati.org, a brilliant charity supporting displaced families in Lebanon and empowering youth and women through skills training.

Turkey & Syria Earthquake Appeal

On February 6th, 2023, a natural disaster was rumbling beneath the surface of their beautiful lands. As well as taking loved ones, the earthquake left millions of people homeless; their personal belongings and livelihoods were destroyed. In time, survivors were given shelter, but many didn’t have the funds to buy the furniture and white goods needed to make their new house a home.

The Blue Marists are a group of humanitarian volunteers led by the award-winning Dr Nabil Antaki. Dr Antaki describes the team’s work as ‘an association of solidarity’ and has said, “We want to live with the poor and the displaced in order to alleviate their suffering and to develop humanity and hope. This is our goal. To sow hope. To help people to live and to stay in their country.”

Working in partnership with The Blue Marists, Comptoir helped those living in the worst-hit parts. There’s a way to go before the area recovers following the earthquake, but we hope that being able to sleep in a comfortable bed and cook on a working stove will give the community a head start when rebuilding their lives.
